Ladybirds Parkside Preschool opened in September 2019 when the Ladybirds Ludlow Preschool needed to relocate to a more spacious premises. A robust tender to secure the premises was submitted and subsequently successful and the move took place. Ladybirds Parkside is based in a large community room at the Festival Hall of Great Britain in Merryoak Road.
We have a huge, fully secure garden which was refurbished in the Summer of 2019 to give us a large hardstanding area, 2 spacious storage sheds in addition to lots and lots of space for the children to explore and physically develop. We have added an enormous mud kitchen, a 'beach hut seaside area' complete with a sand-pit real boat set in shingle accompanied by telescope and periscope to spy down the large garden. We have also added planters and activity walls including; musical, a busy wall with knobs, knockers, switches and pulleys, chalk boards and many more enhancements which are immensley popular with all of the children. In addition we have added a toadstool story circle amid a natural area which is accessed by crossing our fairy tale bridge. There is also a climbing frame and slide and our popular 'bus tyres' for role play and adventures.
Inside the hall we provide a daily preschool which is packed away on 3 evenings a week, allowing us to tailor our space to meet the needs of the children that attend the preschool. We also have a stage, ideal for events and celebrations with the children and parents! The room is light and airy with direct access to the garden enabling us to include free-flow access for children to explore inside and outside and learn through directing their play. Inside the room is fully resourced for all areas of learning and development including; a construction area, a home corner, a making (art and craft) place, maths area, small world area and indoor movement area and wonderful story and role play areas where children can develop imaginations!
We have fully accessable toilets in addition to a seperate room where we can accommodate small groups of children for tailored curriculum programmes in a quieter space.
