NEWSLETTER - Jan/Feb 2018
We all hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and had some quality family time. It has been lovely talking to the children about what they have been doing.
Thank you to everyone that attended the end of term parents consultations, it was great to share your child’s Learning Story and work together on next steps. All of the children enjoyed the Christmas Party. There were some great dance moves and an incredible snowball fight!
Quiz Night - Thursday 18th January
Time: 7.30pm @ Mettricks, Woolston, £3 per person or get yourself a team together. Please let us know how many are coming! This is a joint fundraising event with Ludlow Ladybirds. There will be a raffle held on the night, so if you are able to donate any raffle prizes they would be greatly received.
Co-op Grant: Dinky Dancers
We have now received the money from the Co-op grant and are starting to spend it on physical activities for the children. We are pleased to say that weekly sessions with Dinky Dancers start this week, we’re really looking forward to it. Look out for other activities as the term continues…………
Tesco Grant – Outside Space
We have also received the money from the Tesco Bags for Life Grant. You might have noticed the new addition to our garden, the Bug house! We would like to hold a day to celebrate the changes and new equipment we’ll be purchasing over the term so look out for further news on this.
Our “Giving Tree”
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the “Giving Tree”. We really appreciate everything that has been donated and it’s been put to great use! Please do continue to contribute, we require; shaving foam, red card/paper or relevant items for Chinese New Year, plain a4 paper, corn flour, felt tip pens, prawn crackers, noodles,)
Invoices for lunch club or session fees are due in advance, we are able to accept cash or cheques or direct bank payments. Please keep up to date.
What to bring to pre-school
Please can you ensure your child comes with a named bag, a full change of clothes, hat/gloves and a coat. If your child wears nappies, please can you provide nappies, wipes & nappy bags to change them.
Reminder! Please ensure that if your child has been sick and/or has had diarrhoea that they are kept away from Pre-school for 48 hours (from the last bout, please see our policy for more details). In addition please can you let us know if your child is absent for any reason so that our registers are accurate and that we can monitor any bugs that are spreading.
The safety and security of your children is important at this busy time, to assist us with this, particularly whist the children are getting used to the routine we ask that you support us by;
· Waiting until all the children have been collected before addressing the staff with any questions
· Stand away from the doors and ask siblings to do so (children are so excited to see you/them they may run before being called)
If your child is staying on next year, ie September 2018 – July 2019, now is a good time to review your sessions. If you would like to change any of your session days, times etc then please let us know. We will send out forms so you can change/confirm your sessions in the next few weeks, but do please give it some thought in the meantime. Don’t forget to check your eligibility for funding, 2yr, 30hrs etc if you are unsure then please ask Zoe who will be happy to help.
We have a Ladybirds Porchester page and a Parent Forum Facebook page for you to be involved with.
